People who aim to correct the appearance and\/or the function of their nose. Functional<\/strong>\u00a0and aesthetic<\/strong>\u00a0rhinoplasty<\/strong> (nose job) are performed at the same time if needed. During the first one, we correct any septal deviation, inferior turbinate hypertrophy and the nasal valves harvesting cartilage which is valuable to improve nasal appearance as well.<\/p>\n

The procedure<\/h3>

The open rhinoplasty technique allows for binocular vision and subtle manipulation of the nose. A small incision is placed on the columella and nasal skin is elevated in order to obtain access and perform the following steps:<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>[vc_column_text]<\/p>\n

    \n
  • Hump reduction<\/strong>: Dorsal septum and nasal bones are reduced, while upper lateral cartilages are typically secured and used as spreader flaps<\/strong> to improve breathing.<\/li>\n
  • Septal reconstruction<\/strong>: in cases with deviated septum \u2013 cartilage grafts are harvested at this stage<\/li>\n
  • Osteotomies<\/strong> at the lateral surface of the nose<\/li>\n
  • Tip rhinoplasty<\/strong>: Lower lateral cartilage reduction and remodeling with sutures<\/li>\n
  • Improvement of tip projection<\/strong> and rotation<\/strong> using columellar strut graft and sutures.<\/li>\n
  • Nasal base reduction<\/strong> performing Weir excisions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Recovery<\/h3>

    Septal silicone splints and an external nasal splint are placed for 1 week. Bruises subside completely after 1-2 weeks.
