The procedure
Excess skin around the areola is excised and breast parenchyma is remodeled with sutures to regain a youthful appearance. The nipple is transferred upward in a normal position. The resulting scar is either an “inverted T” or a vertical one. My personal preference is the vertical scar mastopexy as described by Lejour.
